Appi Kogen
Upcoming trips: December '25, 15–21 Mar '26
Appi Kogen is a resort that combines big-mountain skiing with sleek design and thoughtful service. With 43km of skiable terrain across more than 20 trails, it’s the largest ski resort in the region, and it’s no wonder it was named Japan’s Best Ski Resort two years in a row.
The mountain is known for its wide, fast groomers, soft powder, and long, quiet runs. It’s ideal for families learning the ropes, confident intermediates looking to cruise, and even advanced skiers who want space to move. The season here runs well into spring and the snow quality holds up beautifully thanks to the northern location and elevation.
Accommodation at Appi Kogen strikes a balance between comfort and style. For ski-in, ski-out convenience, the ANA Crowne Plaza Resort sits right at the base, perfect for families with young kids or anyone who values easy access to the lifts. For something more luxurious, the Michelin Key-awarded ANA InterContinental Appi Kogen offers refined suites, a serene atmosphere, and upscale dining — ideal for couples or guests wanting a quieter stay.
Everything at Appi feels easy. Well-connected lifts, English-speaking staff, excellent on-mountain facilities, and a compact resort village mean you can spend more time skiing, relaxing, and exploring —and less time figuring things out.
